Post#4: The Edge of Forever

While watching episode 10, of Carl Sagan’s The Cosmos, I learned about how different types of galaxy collisions can cause galaxies to temporarily take different shapes. My favorite example was Ring galaxies. Ring galaxies are created when a compact galaxy directly runs into a larger galaxy. Ring galaxies are thousands of light years across and are visually interesting temporary configuration of stars.
